INVERNESS, SCOTLAND — 22 July 2025

Boleskine House has been recognised among the top 10% of things to do worldwide on TripAdvisor, earning the prestigious Travelers’ Choice Award for exceptional visitor experience.

This remarkable achievement places the historic eighteenth-century manor house alongside the world’s most celebrated attractions, a testament to the extraordinary experiences the site has been able to offer visitors even while undergoing extensive restoration work.

A Recognition Built on Excellence

TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards are presented annually to attractions that consistently earn outstanding reviews from travelers around the globe, based on millions of authentic reviews collected over a 12-month period.

“We are deeply honoured to receive this recognition from TripAdvisor,” said Keith Readdy, Chair of The Boleskine House Foundation SCIO. “This achievement reflects the unique and compelling story that Boleskine House represents and the hard work of our dedicated team and volunteers.”

From Ruins to Recognition

This accolade is particularly meaningful given Boleskine House’s remarkable journey from near destruction to international recognition. After suffering two devastating fires, The Boleskine House Foundation has worked tirelessly to restore this “centre of a thousand legends” – once home to Archibald Campbell Fraser, Aleister Crowley, and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page – among other fascinating figures.

Official Tours Begin Next Spring

Boleskine House will officially open for comprehensive guided tours next spring. While the house is currently closed to visitors during restoration work, tickets for next year’s tour programme and gift vouchers to be redeemed for a future date are available now at boleskinehouse.org/visit/#tour.

The Foundation has announced that grand opening celebrations will take place next spring, marking the culmination of years of dedicated restoration work.

A Testament to Community Support

This TripAdvisor recognition reflects the support of the entire community of visitors, supporters, volunteers, and partners who have made this achievement possible. The award acknowledges the vast work done not only to save Boleskine House from destruction, but to increase public access to an area of unsurpassed natural beauty and historical significance.

Whether drawn by the stunning views over Loch Ness, Scottish history, or the intriguing legends that have made Boleskine House famous worldwide, visitors continue to discover why TripAdvisor users have recognised the site among the world’s top attractions.
